烟台市拥有汽车及零部件生产企业420余家，其中规模以上企业264家，工信部公告内汽车生产企业11家，其中具备整车生产资质的企业2家、专用车生产资质企业9家。2022年，汽车制造业实现整车产量27.5万辆，实现产值1016亿元，占全市规上工业的10.7％，汽车产业成为推动烟台市经济发展的重要力量。零部件方面，上汽通用东岳动力总成公司具备年生产78万台发动机和81万台自动变速箱的能力，上汽变速器有限公司年产130万台变速箱（手动及手自一体），华源莱动年产车用柴油发动机20万台，玲珑集团年产轮胎外胎3500万套。是国内最大的刹车盘生产基地，现有刹车盘生产企业50余家，刹车盘品种1000多个、型号10000多个，年产刹车盘生产能力1亿片。

In 2022, the automobile manufacturing industry achieved a total output of 275000 vehicles and a production value of 101.6 billion yuan, accounting for 10.7% of the city's industrial scale. The automobile industry has become an important force in promoting the economic development of Yantai City. In terms of components, SAIC General Motors Dongyue Powertrain Co., Ltd. has the ability to produce 780000 engines and 810000 automatic transmissions annually. SAIC Transmission Co., Ltd. produces 1.3 million transmissions (both manual and automatic) annually, Huayuan Laidong produces 200000 diesel engines for vehicles annually, and Linglong Group produces 35 million sets of tire covers annually. It is the largest brake disc production base in China, with more than 50 brake disc production enterprises, over 1000 types and 10000 models of brake discs, and an annual production capacity of 100 million brake discs.
